On March 6, 2025, the city of Vizela, Portugal, hosted the 5th International Event of the European Local Citizens project, organized by Educpro in collaboration with the Municipality of Vizela and partner organizations from Greece, Cyprus, Spain, Hungary, and Romania.

The event opened with speeches from the Youth Councillor of Vizela, the President of Educpro, and a touching testimony from a Greek citizen living in Vizela, who shared his experiences of integration in the local community.

A key moment of the event was a presentation by students from a local school, highlighting the challenges faced by international students in their educational environment. This initiative aimed to raise awareness and promote inclusion and cultural understanding among young people.

Workshops on Stereotypes and Inclusion: participants engaged in group discussions to identify common European stereotypes, analyze their impact, and develop creative awareness campaigns to combat discrimination and foster tolerance and European citizenship.

Exploring Vizela: the program also included a city tour, allowing international participants to discover Vizela’s history and cultural heritage, strengthening the connection between local and European identities.

This event reinforced the project’s mission to break down barriers, encourage active citizenship, and promote a more inclusive and united Europe.
