3rd International Event

On the 8th and 9th of October, the Autokreacja Foundation, together with Gmina Gorlice, hosted the third "Solidaritown - Solidarity Across Towns" meeting.

On the first day, participants were warmly welcomed by local officials, including Mayor Jan Przybylski and Deputy Mayor Magdalena Czech. They highlighted the region’s attractions, the local brand "Karpating," and the municipality’s efforts to support Ukraine during these challenging times.

The theme of the event was solidarity, diversity, and multicultural dialogue in Europe. In this historically diverse region, participants explored Lemko culture and learned that even Andy Warhol spoke Lemko with his mother!

At the Pogórzańska Museum, attendees enjoyed traditional regional dishes, discussing the importance of multiculturalism and solidarity today.

Day two kicked off with an open forum on European cultural integration, joined by Mayor Rafał Kukla. Participants also visited the Gorlice Museum, where they learned about a major WWI battle and the area's contributions to the oil industry.

Another highlight was a visit to Bielanka73 Gallery, showcasing local art inspired by cultural diversity. The day ended with a tour of a regional farm and a new observation tower, built thanks to local community input.
