“Green Transition and Migration” Brought Together Experts and Citizens to Promote Inclusive Sustainability
On June 2nd, the international event “Green Transition and Migration” took place in Braga as part of the European project Act Green, hosted by EducPro. The initiative brought together participants and partners from Portugal, Greece, Spain, Slovenia, and Hungary to reflect on the connection between environmental sustainability, migration, and social inclusion.
The event aimed to promote dialogue and cooperation between different sectors in building greener, more inclusive, and resilient communities, while highlighting the importance of local action in addressing global challenges linked to the green transition and migration.
The programme included a presentation focused on local policies and initiatives connecting sustainability, social inclusion, and migrant integration, emphasising the positive contribution of migrant communities to sustainable local development and the role of environmental strategies in fostering social cohesion.
One of the key moments of the event was the “Green Transition & Migration” Expert Panel, which brought together representatives from civil society, public administration, and academia.
In the afternoon, participants joined a participatory workshop focused on co-creating inclusive and sustainable solutions through non-formal education methodologies, collaborative work, and the exchange of international experiences.
The programme also included study visits to Quinta Pedagógica de Braga, the Bom Jesus Funicular, and Bom Jesus Natural Park, allowing participants to explore good practices in environmental education, sustainable mobility, biodiversity preservation, and responsible tourism.
The event concluded with a networking dinner, encouraging intercultural exchange and the development of new partnerships among participants.
Through this initiative, EducPro reinforced its commitment to promoting sustainability, social inclusion, and active citizenship through European cooperation and non-formal education.
